The Blancett 1100 Series of Turbine Flow Meters is designed
to meet the demands of the most rigorous flow measurement
applications. Originally developed for the secondary oil
recovery market, the Blancett 1100 Series is the ideal choice
of turbine flow meters for liquid flow measurement on or off
the oilfield.
These meters feature a 316 stainless steel housing and
rotor support, which provide a long service life in severe
operating environments. The CD4MCU stainless steel rotor and
abrasion-resistant tungsten carbide rotor shaft and journal
bearings help the meter to maintain accuracy and mechanical
integrity when measuring the corrosive and abrasive fluids
found in many industries.
The Blancett 1100 Series’ turbine flow meters meet a wide
range of measurement requirements. This makes them ideal for
applications such as pipelines, production/injection fields,
in-situ mining operations, offshore facilities, and other
industrial applications.
The Blancett 1100 Series offers accurate and repeatable
flow measurement in ranges from 0.6 to 5,000 GPM (20 to
171,000 BPD) on piping systems from 1/2” to 10”. These flow
meters are capable of electronic integration providing
displayed flow rate, totalization, current or voltage outputs.
Operating Principle
Fluid entering the meter first passes through an inlet flow
straightener that reduces its turbulent flow pattern. Fluid
then passes through the turbine, causing the turbine to rotate
at a speed proportional to fluid velocity. As each turbine
blade passes through the magnetic field generated by the
meter’s magnetic pick-up, an AC voltage pulse is generated.
These pulses provide an output frequency that is proportional
to volumetric flow.
